| Montesecondo is located in the Common of San casciano Val di Pesa, near the village of Cerbaia, 15 kms (9.5 miles) south of Florence. Since 2004 we have been in the process of converting to biodynamical farming. Surface: 20 hectares (50 acres) of which 11.5 hectares (28 acres) of vineyards.. Ground: Calcareous, clay and in certain spots sandy. Altitude : 140 m. Exposed to west- south west. Vineyards: reds : Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Colorino, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot. Production: Old implants, 30 years average age, aprox. 3300 plants per hectare, estimated yield 30hl/hectare. New implants, 6250 plants per hectare, estimated yield 40hl/hectare. Red Wines: Chianti Classico, Rosso del Rospo, Le petit verre d'ot, Rosso Toscano. |
