“An iconic Tuscan estate producing some incredible examples of Sangiovese. Montesecondo represents the purest expression of the Sangiovese grape that this earth produces. It really is a pure voice for the grape of Sangiovese, and incredibly delicious to drink. The aging process occurs in cement tanks, allowing the grapes tannin to soften, leaving space for the fruit to express itself and giving light to the wine. This is such a versatile wine, suited equally to a light lunch or a more serious roast dinner. Floral, with rose petal and lavender, with an overlay of fresh oregano and chive, all backed up by supple dark raspberry and cranberry fruit. Very fine texture and a dazzling finish – this is such a great red to have on hand for a warm summer’s day. And be sure to visit the Wine Gallery for a personalised monthly wine journey delivered to your door.”
